Philips Nuclear Medicine engaged our services to assist in the design and development of a new facility in San Jose California.  The objective was to find a new site that could support all activities currently performed in the existing three buildings located on Alder Drive in Milpitas and house them in a single facility.  The new site would need to allow the integration of an additional product line while, increasing efficiency for the NM Group and reducing the current facility footprint from 130,000 SF down to 100,000 SF.

Structura assisted in the search and evaluation of potential sites taking into consideration the new program needs, infrastructure required for medical equipment, the handling of radioactive sources, shielding for x-ray tubes, office and warehouse space. The timeline for the project was 12 months and critical to the business.  This period included the site search and evaluation, assisting the business unit with the financial requirements for internal approvals, design, construction documentation and construction.  The project schedule was closely tracked throughout the process and the project was completed on time.
